Juicing For Natural Weight Loss

Can juicing really help you lose weight on a healthy diet?
Absolutely and without feeling deprived or making it stressful. Eating healthy is the base for any natural weight loss plan, but add fresh juices and you double the effects.

With fresh squeezed juices, you can drink as much as you want and still feel full while losing the weight. By only adding those fruits and vegetables you like, you also eliminate the urge to include snack foods high in salt and sugar.

Over the past few years, smoothies have been promoted as a new healthier drink, and when compared to most carbonated soft drinks they are.

But if they were all as good as we are lead to believe, why have our waistlines continued to increase? Because not all smoothies are created equal. Reading a few of the labels at the grocers shows you would be better off having a piece of cake with a one inch layer of frosting.

In the beginning fruit was the primary ingredient for making smoothies however as they became more popular, refined sugar and jellied fruit syrups have taken the place of the real thing.

My suggestion is to know the ingredients in your juices and smoothies before you buy them. The best way to be certain of course is to make them yourself. Experiment with a variety of fruits, or try adding an occasional veggie to give yourself more than a full day's supply of your vitamin and mineral requirements.

Satisfy your sweet tooth with a fresh and tasty peach smoothie or glass of fresh squeezed pineapple juice. This doesn't mean smoothies and juices are the only liquids you drink during the day, there is a lot to be said for getting enough pure water too.

Admittedly plain water does get boring after the first couple of pints, and most people decide to switch to the many flavored waters now available. But here too you must read the label. Yes reading labels is boring in itself, yet unless you pay attention to what goes in your body everything else you do do is wasted.

The most popular brands of flavored water are sweetened with either Splenda (sucralose) or Aspartame. Again the best flavored drink is one you make yourself because you know what's in it. Add a tablespoon or two of fresh fruit or veggie juice to your water bottle for a flavor customized to your tastes.

Adding juicing to your weight loss plan, you will not only get the vitamins and minerals your body needs to be healthy but it's a simple system that leads to long term weight management. And it makes having an inexpensive juicer at home your best weight loss tool.

It doesn't have to be the biggest or most expensive juicer on the market either. I have a simple Black & Decker Citrus Mate that does the job well for most fruits, and was less than $20.

Keep eating healthier and your weight loss plan simple by making your own fruit or veggie juice drinks the night before. Then whip up a breakfast smoothie in the morning to take with you in your water bottle when you leave home.

Even children can enjoy a sweet tasty drink when away from home and you know they aren't going to be bouncing off the walls on a sugar high. It's also a good way to start them early with eating healthy.

Most of us would prefer to remain as healthy as we can and for as long as we can, and that means changing how we think about our relationship to food.

Mixing fruits and vegetables for unique salad recipes and having fresh squeezed vegetable juice smoothies are small steps anyone can do to make small changes in old eating habits.
